Brief Introduction
I have been involved in performance and security issues in system
software as a researcher at IBM Research - Tokyo, since April 2007.
Memory footprint of virtual machines is my recent research focus. Both
of system virtual machines (e.g. hypervisors) and language virtual
machines (e.g. Java Virtual Machines) are included in my targets.
I received a B.Sc. in information science and a M.Sc. in mathematical and computing sciences from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2004 and 2007, respectively. Process migration techniques and system virtualization mechanisms were my interest at the university. My special interest was on container-based virtualization such as FreeBSD jail and Linux-VServer.
My personal interests are on people: competitive education of programming, human-computer interaction, and human beings themselves (brains, thinking, organisms and genetics).

Outside Activities
ACM-ICPC
I participated in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC) during my undergraduate years, and competed at the World Finals 2003 (in Beverly Hills) and the World Finals 2004 (in Prague). I have been spending time as a member of the ACM-ICPC Japanese Alumni Group that gives contestants opportunities to be trained for the ICPC. I took part in the World Finals 2007 in Tokyo and the Regionals 2007 in Tokyo as a volunteer staff member. I introduced the ACM-ICPC Japanese Alumni Group at the Competitive Learning Workshop 2008 in the Regionals 2008 in Aizu.
Pastimes
I like bicycles and any kind of travelling. So, I hope to go on a bicycle tour around the world, someday. :)
