Short bio

Takayuki Osogami is a staff researcher at IBM Tokyo Research
Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie
Mellon University in August 2005, and a B.Eng. degree in Electronic
Engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1998. His research
interests include building mathematical tools for analyzing
stochastic models using diffusion processes, point processes, Markov
chains, phase-type distributions, extreme-value distributions, and
other random objects. He studies stochastic models particularly for
obtaining insights into better system-design, optimizing general
systems more quickly with simulations, and setting the right prices
of products and services.
